Tacoma Noir TOur

Secrets and Stories of tacoma in the 1930s

Tacoma Noir Tour
$28

Tacoma Noir Tour
Tacoma was perhaps at its wildest in the 1930s. From secret underground bathhouses and mob activity to rum running and crime. There were violent clashes between unions and the national guard and the illicit smuggling of contraband through the Tacoma underground.

Today there are echos of this dark past and many hidden corners where you can hear the whispers of the past. Come explore downtown Tacoma and hear the events that unfolded beneath the watchful gaze of the local law enforcement and played out on the dark streets of a city in chaos.

These are the moments that inspired Dashiell Hammet while he was here in Tacoma and eventually found their way into The Maltese Falcon.

Equally parts history and mystery, this is a wonderful tour for anyone hoping to learn more dark history in Tacoma.

Tacoma's Court House Square

Front door of the Federal Building
1102 A St, Tacoma, WA 98402, USA

Right in the center of it all, the Federal Building has housed court rooms, customs officers, and the postal service. It has loomed over the dark alleys of Tacoma as a gritty beacon of law and order in a dark town.
