Join us as we get an exclusive opportunity to go INSIDE Stadium High School. This hour-long tour will explore the halls and corridors of this magnificent building from the 1800's.
Originally built to be a luxury hotel by the Northern Pacific Railroad, it was abandoned in the financial crash of the late 1800s. Not long after, the building was gutted by a fire. Luckily, this iconic French Chateau style structure was purchased by the school district and opened in 1906 as Tacoma's most impressive high school. Come experience the grandeur and history. This tour explores the 195,000 sq feet of this iconic building and does feature places like the sub-basement and the attic. Neither of those iconic locations has been remodeled for ADA so if you have mobility issues this tour may not be for you. A Once in a lifetime look at Stadium High SchoolSeptember 1st

Before the tour we will meet in front of the main entrance to the high school at 111 N E St, Tacoma. The front door to the school is located inside a large courtyerad, in the center of the courtyard is a large blue circle with a yellow "S" on the ground. We encourage you to meet there. Your guide will find you there and get you checked in before allowing you into the building.
Parking is available all along the nearby streets but you can also park in the school parking garage to the north west of the school, just off of 3rd St.
The tour is of the interior of the school from basement to attic, there are some tight spaces and stairs so please come prepared. The attic and the sub basement are universal highlights of this historic building but they do not have elevator access, can be a tight fit, and are often hot. If you are uncomfortable with any part of these exclusive locations please let your guide know and they will designate a separate location for you to wait while the group explores.
